feeling anxious?

If you are reading this right now, i am so sorry for the emotional and mental turmoil you're currently experiencing. But let me be clear when I say this - you are being bullied by the enemy.

The key to defeating your anxiety is reminding yourself is 2 Corinthians 10:5: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Arguments against your peace of mind WILL come. It would be foolish to omit the fact that pain is inevitable. You WILL experience turmoil in this life. But the reason we follow Jesus is because He can carry that burden for us.

Matthew 11:28-30 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Oftentimes, your anxiety is linked to an interpretation of an event - not the event itself. For example, let's say you fail a class in college. You anxiety is probably less about the fact that you failed, and more-so the idea of "what if I can't graduate now?" Or "will I ever get to medical school?"

Same situation with going through a breakup. You may be less heartbroken about the separation, and more anxious about your future. "Will I ever get married?" "Will anyone ever love me again?" And so on. This can be applied to any situation of life you're in. THIS is why we need to walk closely with the Lord - because He is the only one who is omnipresent. Nothing is surprising to God. He sees your past, present & future all at the same time. You could be thinking "this is a disaster," but He could be thinking "this is all going according to plan."

The fact is: we cannot overlook that the enemy does indeed have power. He was given certain authority in this world the moment that he was cast out of Heaven. However, his power is NOT greater than the Lord. The story never changes - he ALWAYS ends in defeat. And sometimes, the biggest way to destroy the lies of the enemy is to remind him of his future.

Remind him of the fact that YOU are a child of GOD.

Remind him that he doesn't get to dictate over your mind/thoughts any longer.

Remind him that you are TAKING BACK what he stole from you: the peace that has already been promised and the faith you have in Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Not only does God know the plans that He has for you, but He also knows the plans that the enemy has for you. This is why 2 Timothy 1:7 states "You were not given the spirit of fear, but one of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND." There is nothing to fear when you are walking with God.

He sees all.

He knows all.

And He is good.

Trust Him like your life depends on it. Because in reality, it actually does.
